Roscoe Enloe Post 5

A Brief History

Our namesake, Roscoe Enloe, was born August 7, 1895 in Cole County, Missouri.  He was the first soldier among many in the Cole County area to die while serving their country during World War I.  He was killed in action at Argonne Forrest, France on September 30, 1918.

Roscoe is buried in Section 1, Plot 4 Argonne American Cemetery No.1232 at Romagne-Sous-Montfaucon, Meuse, France.  An honorary stone has been erected at Enloe Cemetery in Russellville, Missouri to honor the utlimate sacrifice Roscoe made.  It stands near the graves of both his parents and a few of his siblings.

We are continuously searching for additional information and photographs of Roscoe Enloe to post on the website.  Items can be sent to post5@mchsi.com
